College Projects

Lee Jackson Farms

For my capstone project, I worked with a team of five to develop and execute a marketing strategy plan for Lee Jackson Farms, a shrimp farm located in the Black Belt region of Alabama. The marketing strategy plan included the creation of Facebook and Instagram pages, an email marketing campaign, and a website redesign to add online ordering functionality and inventory management features. The email marketing campaign was successful and produced a response rate 15 times greater than industry averages.

General Education Reform

In MGT 556 (Data Visualization II) I collaborated on a project to develop researched-based recommendations for The University of Alabama's Provost's Office regarding the University's general education reform scheduled to rollout in 2025. During this project, 50+ peer universities across the US were benchmarked to determine best practices in general education curriculums. I led a team of five to develop recommendations for the structure of a governing body for the new general education curriculum. Our group presented our recommendations to the Provost and the Office of Academic Affairs. We were also able to provide a student perspective regarding general education decisions.

The University of Alabama Graduate School

In MKT 595 (Client-Based Marketing Consultant Projects) my group worked with The University of Alabama Graduate School to increase engagement across their social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook) and increase their social footprint. We benchmarked college and university social media accounts, created content ideas and a content schedule, and provided recommendations for their future strategy. Since the project wrapped up, The University of Alabama Graduate School has seen an increase of 500 followers on Instagram.

Experiential Learning Opportunities Database

In MGT 456 (Data Visualization I), I worked on a class-wide project to create a database that drove a Tableau visualization of Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs) available at The University of Alabama. Typical opportunities included internships, service-learning, and study abroad. I led a team of five to develop graphics displaying personal testimonies from interviews with faculty across campus about ELOs. The project deliverables led to a continuation project and an overview of our work was published in the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (linked below).

Diabetes Predictors Model

For my final project in ST 531 (Data Mining I), I completed a classification analysis to identify health factors associated with diabetes diagnoses in adults. This project involved the use of Base SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner 14 to clean and analyze the dataset. The results of the classification analysis showed that age, mental health, and alcohol consumption are strong contributing factors in diabetes diagnoses.
